Still love this commercial. Not boring or annoying at all.

Ercola feat. Daniella "Every Word" HD
Love this song right now. More music coming up in the following days. I had a wonderful weekend hanging out with friends so didn't have time to blog. And during the week I'm all about school. But every now and then I get an idea for a blog and never get around to typing it. Ah well...enjoy the song.

Life sometimes feels like.....
*This post is best read while listening to the songs above.
Do you ever get moments when your life feels like a TV show? Ever since I moved to Amsterdam, I've got this feeling that I was either on Gossip Girl or the The City. No need to get into the minute details, and I'm sure I'll probably get teased for writing this. But I don't care.
Everyday seems like an adventure to me. Nothing I plan has an outcome I expect it to have. And that applies to all aspects of life. Since I've moved here I've met so many different people, that it can be overwhelming at times. I use the TV show comparison not to say there is drama, which of course there is occasionally, but to illustrate how unexpected things can happen at any moment during an episode, and leaves you hanging with a "to be continued" until the next monday.
Also at times I have the urge to please everyone. It runs in my genes I guess. But there is also this other side of me that is selfish. This creates somewhat a conflict not with me and others, but with me and me.
I'm probably being to cryptic, since I can't give clear examples, but what I wanted to say is that there is one thing that was made clear over the past months. I have to remain me. People either like me for myself or they don't. I can't please everyone. You'll always be happier when you can be yourself alone, and with others.
So yes I do like Gossip Girl, The Hills, and The City. They are just mindless fun, and make you feel...normal, especially at times when you feel anything but. There is no shame in that. :D
Until next time!

To think I used to bike everyday
Just read an article on treehugger.com about how dangerous it is to cycle or walk in Florida, and I wasn't surprised to read that orlando Florida, my former place of residence is the most dangerous place to cycle in the US. I completely agree. Obviously its a big change from where I am now which is the bike capital of the world, but I think they could have done better. I never dared to use bike lanes in fear of getting run over. I've had more near misses than I can count. Times when crossing the street was the most dangerous time of the day.
Drivers are terrible. They don't watch where they drive, and are often on the cellphone especially on their way home from work in the afternoon. In the morning I usually see them either having breakfast, putting up make-up, or both while driving.
I'm so glad I don't have to worry about that anymore, even though I still don't have a bike. Amsterdam is ridiculously well planed for cyclists. And I'd go as far as to say that biking it home from school is quicker than taking the metro and the bus. And that saying something.
Until next time!

Free again
Exams are over so I'm free to return to my regular schedule. It seemed like it took forever to end. A whole week of back to back tests. Pretty exhausting. But enough about school. I got to relax over the weekend. Which means I had time to go into the city for some sushi and some fun. I was pretty tired Saturday so I recharged for some shopping on Sunday. But of course Sunday is the worst day to shop in Amsterdam. Stores are open on Sundays in Amsterdam and a few other big cities in the netherlands only, so all the surrounding towns descend on Amsterdam on Sunday for some shopping. The city streets are filled with international and dutch "tourists". So I didn't buy anything noteworthy. Couldn't shop with ease, but I did enjoy my company. And so the day wasen't a total bust.
Picture taken friday night. Some crazy graffiti out there.

I love Google Chrome
If you haven't heard yet. google Chrome is out for mac, so I dumped Chromium which is a developers build version of Google Chrome and downloaded the official one from google. i love the simplicity, and the ease at which you can work in this browser. Also the fact that you can customize your browser with artist themes. So cool!
So check out the video of some Japanese themes or check out Google Chrome for yourself.

Kelly and Luke in 24 hours
I love UK television. And I love Kelly Osbourne. And I think its really cool to be able to see another side of her, than what the media normally lets us all see. I love her style, it seems to combine rock with more modern minimalist style.
This is the link to the show's website. I hope it works outside of Europe unlike that last music video I posted that apparently didn't allow embedding.
Until next time!

Shopping time again
After class today I decided to stop off at Waterlooplein station to do some shopping. Although I didn't find what I was looking for I remembered I needed gloves. Its getting to the point where I'll have to start layering again since it too warm to wear a winter jacket, but too cold to wear a T-shirt and a jacket. I hit a number of stores on the Kalverstraat which is Amsterdam's main shopping street. I went to H&M, where I saw a lot of things that I wanted, but nothing that I needed. I went to WE (Dutch chain that has stores all over Europe) which is becoming my favorite store, Mexx which is I suppose the dutch version of H&M, but a bit more expensive.
Love their clothes. And then finally my favorite store of all, River Island. Its located almost at the beginning of the Kalverstraat. There you can find clothes that range from dressed up to
what I call crazy-casual or casual with a twist. I really like the combination of traditional
patterns with an urban twist. Its really hard to describe, but to get an idea of the type of place, imagine the mannequins wearing donkey, and elephant masks while wearing a very dressy coat paired with some casual shoes and jeans.
There I bought the gloves seen in the picture. I'm a sucker for knits, sweaters, cardigans, and herringbone patterns, and this seems to be the season where its all on display. Ahhh I love Autumn.
Until next time!
*Some of the photos are from Dam square where there is currently a fair going on. Huge ferris wheel!
